We’ve been cooking up something special here at Hillvale HQ. Since day one, our slide film customers have patiently waited, sometimes weeks, for their E6 development, which we previously outsourced to other labs. But no longer - we’re excited to announce that our in-house E6 developing machine is now up and running. That makes us the only lab in Victoria (in the world?) offering C41, B&W, and E6 development, all processed in dip and dunk machines.
As the name suggests, dip and dunk processing involves your film being clipped to racks, then carefully dipped through a series of chemical baths. Unlike roller transport machines or smaller setups like JOBOs or Patterson tanks, your film never physically touches anything other than chemistry - minimising the risk of scratches, jams, or other processing issues. We also run control strips every morning and afternoon to monitor chemistry levels and ensure consistent, top-quality results.
Keep an eye out as we will be promoting a special introductory offer to celebrate the launch of our new machine. E6 development will run twice a week, on the same schedule as our B&W process (Mondays and Thursdays), meaning you’ll get your film back within 3–5 business days during our regular turnaround periods. Stay positive.
